Celebrating 12 years of Neighborhood Investment

The evening will start at 6:30 pm with an Open House featuring another excellent pasta buffet catered by Fat Lorenzo's. This year we are suggesting a donation of $4 per adult and $2 for kids under 12 for the dinner.

Besides the dinner, plan on browsing and bidding on the many items in our Silent Auction. By poular request, the silent auction is making a return after several year's absence. (See partial list of items below). Winners must pay with cash or check, no cards accepted.

Senator Torres RayThe business end of the night begins at 7:30 p.m. and will start with our keynote presentation by Senator Patricia Torres Ray and a Congressional report from Congressman Keith Ellison's staff.

We'll also do volunteer recognition and the presentation of our Peoples Choice for the Best of Nokomis--the "Noki" award. (Sorry, we're not telling who or what beforehand.)

We'll finish the evening with our important elections for the Board of Directors neighborhood representatives. (see below for more details on the elections or becoming a Board member.)

We hope to see you there!

2008 Board Elections

Four neighborhood representative positions on the NENA Board of Directors are up for election this year (two each for the Morris Park, Keewaydin, Wenonah and Minnehaha neighborhoods).

If you are interested in serving on the NENA Board, we would like to hear from you. To run for a neighborhood representative position, you must live in that neighborhood. If you’re not sure which neighborhood you live in, you can check our online neighborhood map, or call the NENA office at (612) 724-5652. Anyone who is a member of NENA and resides in one of the four neighborhoods can run for a seat in the neighborhood he/she resides in. To be a member, you must either live in the neighborhood, own property or a business, or work in the neighborhood and be registered as a member. Not sure if you are registered? Registration is quick, easy and can be done at the meeting.

Please call the NENA office at 724-5652 for additional information on the duties and expectations of Board members. The Board meets monthly, usually on the 4th Thursday. Members serve two-year terms.

About 200 residents attended the meeting

About 200 residents ate dinner before the 2007 business part of the meeting.
