Steering Committee Membership
November 1, 2005

City Planning staff , NENA staff, Council Member Sandy Colvin Roy reviewed the submitted steering committee applications with the objective of selecting a group of people that would represent a broad range of community interests, local knowledge, and professional expertise. This group will not be a decision making body, but will play an influential role in how the planning process is conducted as well as the specific outcomes and recommendations.

The membership includes members of the NENA board, a business owner, residents near the stations, a architecture/urban design professional, a staff person with the Veterans Administration, and others who have experience working with communities, particularly on issues of housing development and affordability.

The Nokomis East Station Area Steering Committee:

    • Greg Bastien - NENA Board, Minnehaha United Methodist Church (MUMC) Affordable Housing group

    • Cheryl Luger - AARP chapter board and MUMC Affordable Housing group
    • Sharon Osborn - Station area resident, attorney, business owner
    • Jeff Kendall - Resident and City employee
    • Patti Gaalaas - Station area resident, NENA Board and Planning & Development Committee

    • Brette Hjelle - Resident and Aide to Council Member Sandy Colvin Roy
