Neighborhood-Submitted Design Priciples
Updated 6/14/07
Nokomis East Neighborhood Association (NENA) hosted a public design charrette on May 15, 2007 to identify principles important to the neighborhood for the development of the Riverview Road/54th Street site. The exercise generated creative ideas and common themes for maximizing the potential of the site and benefits to the neighborhood. More information, the principles and design sketches can be found on the Riverview Road RFP page.
Riverview Road Request for Proposal (RFP)
(Updated April 30, 2007)
The City’s Community Planning and Economic Development (CPED) department is moving ahead with plans to purchase and develop 78,000 square feet of land along Riverview Road and 54th Street owned by the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT). The ten parcels are part of the Yardville Precinct in the Nokomis East Station Area Plan.
CPED’s multifamily housing division has drafted a Request for Proposals (RFP) to develop the property and is accepting public comment on the draft RFP (link at top right).
NENA would like to hear your comments on the draft RFP. We will hold a neighborhood workshop in conjunction with CPED staff to discuss the RFP, look at design alternatives, and hear what you think. This 3-hour workshop is scheduled for Tuesday, May 15, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Keewaydin Community Center, 3000 East 53rd Street. (Note: This is a date and location change from what was published in the April NENA Review.)
