Nokomis East Neighborhood Association Appoints Amy Arcand as Interim Executive Director

The Nokomis East Neighborhood Association (NENA) announces the appointment of Amy Arcand as Interim Executive Director, effective January 22, 2025. This leadership transition follows the departure of Brandon Long and reflects the Board of Directors commitment to ensuring strong, focused leadership to support NENA’s mission and future growth.

Amy brings extensive experience in interim nonprofit management and community engagement and has worked with Minneapolis neighborhood organizations for 25 years. She is deeply committed to the mission of NENA and looks forward to working with the Board of Directors to strengthen the organization and set a new path forward. She previously served as NENA’s Interim Executive Director before the hiring of Becky Timm, facilitated a strategic planning retreat with the NENA board, and was the Executive Director of the Corcoran Neighborhood Organization for ten years where she, along with many community volunteers, started the Midtown Farmers Market.

"We are grateful to have Amy stepping into this role during a time of change,” said Christina Meyer, Chair of NENA’s Board of Directors. “Her leadership, vision, and dedication, along with the Board’s commitment to our community, will guide the organization forward as we embark on this new chapter. The NENA Board of Directors and other key volunteers will be putting in additional time to ensure that things run smoothly. There will be a lot of opportunities to get involved so reach out if you are interested.”

The Nokomis East Neighborhood Association remains steadfast in its mission to serve the neighborhoods of Keewaydin, Minnehaha, Morris Park, and Wenonah by advocating for residents, fostering local partnerships, and supporting neighborhood initiatives. The Board of Directors is committed to ensuring a seamless transition while maintaining the integrity of its programs and services. An assessment of future staffing needs will commence shortly.

“I am honored to lead NENA during this transitional period,” said Amy Arcand. “Community is at the heart of everything we do, and I look forward to working closely with residents, staff, and stakeholders to build a strong organizational foundation in which to advance our shared goals.”
