The Nokomis East Neighborhood Association mourns alongside the community for the killing of Renee Nicole Good during the attack by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on January 7, 2026. We strongly condemn the profiling and targeting of our immigrant neighbors by ICE and other federal officials and public figures, and we denounce the activities causing terror in our entire city. As a neighborhood organization, NENA supports each and every community member, regardless of immigration status. We stand for connection, inclusion, and celebration of all people, and we cherish the richness and vibrancy a diverse community provides for our neighborhood. The tactics of fear, intimidation, and arbitrary use of force by federal agents are unacceptable in Minneapolis. 

We encourage all of our community members to support each other by standing up for one another, staying safe, and making a real-time response plan. As a community, we have the opportunity to collectively come together in support of all neighbors, and create a unified, resilient and safe neighborhood.
