Thank you so much to everyone who came out for Nokomis Days! Nokomis East Business Association sure knows how to throw a party. We had a blast dancing to DJ Rock the Monkey, drinking cool beverages from Town Hall Lanes, and creating our own community quilt! Thank you so much to Mehtab and the whole Town Hall Lanes crew for the use of their space and extra coverage so we could have ice cold drinks served inside and out! Also, a special shout out to McDonald’s Liquor for lending us their tables and Crosstown Covenant Church for the use of their chairs.

By the end of the day, we had 120 squares of lovely neighborhood art that we are going to create into a more permanent piece that will be displayed throughout the year at our local businesses! The first stop will be at Keewaydin for the first day of school, September 2nd, to welcome the kids back!

We also wanted to thank the Henry family for their creative inspiration the last two years. The whole family also volunteered the day of helping with setup, take down, supplies, and getting the word out about our project. What an amazing family to have in our neighborhood, they truly understand the importance of bringing the neighborhood together through art!

Special thank you to Mike at Nokomis Tattoo who organized a silent auction to raise money for your local neighborhood association. We can’t believe seventeen businesses donated to helping us keep our doors open! We are so lucky to have such a caring and vibrant community.

We are so excited to participate in Nokomis Days, and can’t wait to party again and celebrate our community and our local businesses next year.
